Gmail SMTP setup

Prerequisites

• A Google Workspace account (not a personal @gmail.com)
• Admin access to your Google account (for App Passwords)

Step 1: Enable 2-Step Verification

App Passwords require 2FA to be active.

Go to myaccount.google.com

Click Security in the left sidebar

Under "How you sign in to Google", click 2-Step Verification

Follow the setup wizard

Step 2: Create an App Password

Go to myaccount.google.com/apppasswords

Sign in if prompted

Select app: Mail

Select device: Other, type "Revnox"

Click Generate

Copy the 16-character password (you won't see it again)

Step 3: Configure in Revnox

Go to Settings > Email Accounts > Add Account and enter:

• SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
• Port: 587
• Security: STARTTLS
• Username: your full Gmail address (e.g., you@yourcompany.com)
• Password: the 16-character App Password (not your Google account password)

Click Test Connection, you should see a green checkmark.

Daily sending limits

Google Workspace accounts are limited to 2,000 emails/day. Revnox caps campaigns at 200 emails/day per account by default to protect deliverability. Raise this in Settings > Email Accounts only after your account is fully warmed up.

Troubleshooting

If the test connection fails, verify that 2FA is enabled and that you're using the App Password, not your regular Google password. "Less secure app access" is not needed, App Passwords are the correct method.
